Business Development Manager - Cleveland, Ohio - JOB 26-00097
Salary Range: $75K - $95K Permanent Position with Benefits
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving strategic growth through lead generation, client relationship development, and pursuit management. This role works closely with firm leadership and studio teams to identify target markets, develop growth strategies, manage CRM activities, and support proposals, conferences, and networking efforts within the AEC community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate, manage, and track all lead generation activities within the company's CRM platform.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify targeted growth regions, sub-markets, and priority clients.
- Develop annual profiles of targeted prospects and coordinate pursuit strategies with leadership.
- Initiate outreach to prospective clients and coordinate meetings between client targets and firm leadership.
- Develop, manage, and execute 12-month revenue growth plans and related business development programs, including:
- New business development
- Client relationship management
- Lead follow-up and ongoing lead generation
- Lead and support RFP/RFQ responses, including content development, qualifications packages, presentations, deadlines, and communications.
- Collaborate with studio leadership and internal teams on proposal strategy and development.
- Plan and coordinate conference participation, including budgets, schedules, registrations, travel, and logistics for conferences and trade shows.
- Attend and represent the firm at local and regional networking events, including organizations such as ULI Cleveland, NAIOP Cleveland, and AIA Cleveland.
- Attend client-focused events such as ribbon cuttings, grand openings, and networking opportunities.
- Manage and coordinate client and company sponsorship requests.
- Prepare annual reviews, forecasts, and competitive market and revenue reports by studio.
- Travel as necessary to support business development efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture preferred; degrees in business management, marketing, or A/E-related fields considered.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a client-facing role, including business development, project management, or sales management within the AEC industry.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with strong initiative.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe InDesign.
- Proficient understanding of CRM platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong listening abilities.
- Highly organized with strong time management and follow-through skills.
- Outgoing and personable with strong professional networking capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.
