Mechanical Design Engineer - Akron, Ohio - JOB 25-01721

Salary Range: $60k - $80K Permanent Position with Benefits

Akron, Ohio area Machine Design and Build Manufacturing Company seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who is capable of utilizing SolidWorks CAD software to generate engineering drawings to meet customer specifications.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Mechanical Engineering or related experience
• Experience as a mechanical design engineer developing production machinery and support equipment.
• Any experience with extrudes / extrusion equipment is preferred!
• Candidates who have experience with SolidWorks or who are capable of learning this design software are highly desired.
• Work with shop floor personnel and other design engineers to create machinable parts in a manufacturing environment.
• Prepare layout, assembly, detail drawings and bills of materials (BOM) that meet company specifications.
• Follow established ISO procedures for drawing control and maintain all documents.
• Verify that machined parts meet all specifications. Make modifications as needed.
• Perform internal machine assembly and checkout as necessary.
• Assist in creating service and installation manuals.
• Participate in both pre and post design review.
• Ensure that machinery / equipment is delivered to the client on time to job.
• Candidates should be prepared to travel to customer sites to provide installation assistance and troubleshooting.
