Plant Superintendent (Steel Processing & Production) - Youngstown, OH - Job 26-00319

Salary Range: $70,000 – $120,000 Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits

Seeking a high-caliber Plant Superintendent to lead a premier steel production facility in Youngstown, Ohio. This facility specializes in high-quality flat-rolled steel processing, serving a North American client base with an annual throughput exceeding two million tons. We are looking for a Change Catalyst—a leader who doesn't just manage daily operations but actively elevates the professional standards, safety culture, and operational efficiency of the entire plant.

Core Responsibilities:

• Operational Excellence: Direct all daily manufacturing activities, ensuring the facility meets or exceeds aggressive production goals.
• Strategic Leadership: Act as a key member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the Head of US Operations to drive organizational growth.
• Lean Transformation: Lead the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles, with a heavy emphasis on 5S methodology and waste reduction.
• Safety Mastery: Set the standard for a "safety-first " environment, ensuring total compliance with OSHA and internal safety protocols.
• P&L & Scheduling: Optimize production schedules and resource allocation to ensure maximum profitability and on-time delivery.
• People Development: Mentor and coach supervisors and shop floor staff to foster a culture of accountability and "Excellence Always"

Qualifications:

• Expertise: Extensive experience in Plant Management or Operations Management within a Steel, Metal, or Heavy Industrial manufacturing environment.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field; or equivalent career experience in manufacturing leadership.
• Lean Proficiency: Demonstrated success in applying Lean/Six Sigma principles to improve plant efficiency.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills and the "Energy " required to manage dynamic production demands and drive cultural change.
