About the Opportunity
Integrity Technical Services, Inc. is partnering with a premier Solon, Ohio machining firm to recruit a skilled CNC Grinder. In this role, you will set up and operate conventional CNC Grinder to manufacture complex, high-tolerance components for specialized industries, including aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing. Responsibilities
- Setup & Machine Operation: Set up, calibrate, and operate I.D. & O.D grinders.
- Blueprint Reading & GD&T: Analyze complex engineering drawings, technical blueprints, schematics, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to plan efficient machining sequences.
- Precision Inspection: Perform detailed first-piece and in-process quality checks using micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, height gauges, and dial indicators to ensure compliance with micro-inch tolerances.
- Tooling & Fixturing: Design, set up, align, and adapt custom jigs, holding fixtures, vices, and specialized cutting tools for custom, low-volume, or prototype production runs.
- Materials & Calculations: Select proper speeds, feeds, cut depths, and tooling based on material properties (exotic metals, stainless steel, aluminum, alloys, and industrial plastics).
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine machine maintenance, monitor coolant/fluid levels, and troubleshoot mechanical operation issues.
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on manual machining experience in a precision job shop, aerospace, defense, or medical device manufacturing environment.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of shop metallurgy, tool selection, cutting fluid application, and speeds/feeds calculations.
- Applied Mathematics: High proficiency in practical shop math, including geometry, algebra, and trigonometry for layout and precise measurements.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended shifts, perform repetitive physical movements, and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a formal machining apprenticeship or vocational degree is preferred.
