Manufacturing Engineer Intern - North Canton, Ohio - JOB 25-01697
Pay Rate: $18.00/HR Intern / Co-op Spring Semester 2026
North Canton, Ohio area Engineering Firm seeks a Manufacturing Engineer Intern / Co-op who is willing to learn and participate in the duties and responsibilities of a Manufacturing Engineer. Candidates will be mentored by experienced engineers, managers and other technical personnel.
REQUIREMENTS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Co-Op Candidates must be working towards a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical (ME or MET), Manufacturing, Industrial, Automation, Electrical Engineering, other practical college engineering programs.
- Candidates will participate in Lean Manufacturing such as: Kaizen, 3Q6S and Rapid Improvement Events.
- Work with internal staff to learn about and implement cost reduction initiatives and to improve existing manufacturing processes and / or create new processes that support the efficiency of the company.
- Learn how to do research, standardize, and document manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Work with staff to learn how to ensure that safety is designed into all processes and to take corrective actions to eliminate safety risks.
- You will learn from other staff members how to create and manage detailed project specifications and plans.
- Perform time and capability studies and other statistical analysis to verify and qualify production processes and the manufacturing equipment used to make the finished part.
- Candidates will learn how to provide production support to ensure safety, quality, inventory management, and cost control.
- Assist other manufacturing engineers with capital projects to increase capacity, improve material flow, floor space reduction and find ways to reduce costs.
- Must be proficient with SolidWorks, AutoCAD or other 3D software.
- Candidates must be able to produce engineering drawings to design / draft Tooling and fixtures.
- Work with staff members to manage the installation, start-up, and perform troubleshooting of on industrial equipment to include the following systems: mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic.
- Experience with Microsoft Office. Microsoft Project experience is a PLUS!
- Any 3D printing experience is helpful.
- Solid verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
Candidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
