Mechanical Project Engineer - Akron, Ohio - JOB 26-00203

Salary Range: $62K - $72K Permanent Position with Benefits

A growing engineering firm in the Akron, Ohio area is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who are passionate about mechanical design, product safety, and compliance engineering within the consumer products industry.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or product design
• Strong background in technical report writing and mechanical testing
• Experience with SolidWorks CAD and prototyping/fabrication
• Project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and support mechanical engineering projects focused on product safety and performance
• Review and evaluate consumer products for safety, compliance, and mechanical functionality
• Develop detailed technical reports and product evaluations for clients
• Collaborate with clients, testing labs, regulatory agencies, and standards organizations
• Utilize SolidWorks CAD for design improvements and prototyping
• Assist in mechanical testing, fabrication, and design enhancements
• Stay current on industry standards, safety regulations, and engineering best practices
• Travel (~5%) for client meetings, testing oversight, and industry events
