Integrity Technical Services, Inc. is partnering with a premier Civil Engineering Firm in Charleston, West Virginia to hire a talented Civil Engineer specializing in Roadway
and Transportation Engineering Projects.
This position offers an exceptional career trajectory for entry-level to mid-career engineers looking to work on impactful transportation infrastructure across West Virginia. You will collaborate directly with senior engineering leadership, gaining hands-on exposure to WVDOH projects while developing technical mastery in 3D roadway modeling, drainage design, and project management.
Responsibilities
- Roadway Design & Modeling: Execute core transportation design tasks, including geometric alignments, 3D roadway modeling (OpenRoads Designer), pavement design, right-of-way planning, and maintenance of traffic (MOT).
- Hydraulics & Hydrology: Perform hydrology calculations and design storm water drainage systems for roadway alignment projects.
- Cost Estimation & Engineering Analysis: Prepare accurate construction quantity takeoff calculations, cost estimates, and technical design evaluations under senior mentorship.
- WVDOH Process Standards: Build comprehensive knowledge of West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOH) project development procedures and deliverables.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate in client and public meetings, coordinating across multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
- Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Experience: Entry-level to 5+ years of relevant experience in transportation or roadway engineering design.
- Certifications / Licensure:
o Ability to obtain Engineer in Training (EIT / EI) certification required.
o Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in West Virginia (or pathway toward licensure) strongly encouraged and supported.
- Technical Software: Proficiency in or willingness to learn OpenRoads Designer (experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or InRoads is a plus).
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with WVDOH project development processes, AASHTO design guidelines, CAD standards, and right-of-way plans preferred.
- Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
