Integrity Technical Services, Inc. is partnering with a premier Cleveland, Ohio area Engineering Firm to recruit an experienced Field Service Electrical Controls Engineer or Electrical Controls Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, programming, start-up, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced industrial Electrical PLC and HMI machine control systems. Responsibilities
- Field Execution & Service: Analyze on-site engineering challenges, diagnose root causes, execute precision repairs, and provide strategic recommendations to optimize machinery performance.
- Programming & Controls: Program, test, configure, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) or SCADA platforms.
- Client Consultation: Work directly with customers to identify technical specifications, design precise control loops, and select optimal electrical components.
- System Integration: Oversee the successful installation, hardware integration, wiring verification, and system start-up of machinery on-site.
- System Design (Plus): Design and detail accurate electrical drawings, schematics, and control loops for newly integrated automated systems.
Requirements
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering / Technology (BSEE / BSEET) OR equivalent hands-on experience as a skilled Industrial Controls Technician.
- Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of industrial automated systems, including PLCs, HMIs, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and variable speed motor controls.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with engineering teams and corporate clients.
- Component Selection: Proven ability to analyze machinery requirements, map control loops, and properly source robust electrical control components.
Travel Expectations
- Regional Travel (60%): Localized day travel, typically within a 2-hour drive radius. Generous travel support is provided, including mileage reimbursement matching maximum federal guidelines.
- Overnight Travel (10%): Occasional out-of-town overnight travel required for major machinery installations and full system commissioning/start-ups.
