About the Role
Are you an automation professional who loves seeing your designs come to life? Integrity Technical Services is assisting an east Ohio Manufacturing Company seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join our growing team on-site. In this role, you won't just sit behind a desk—you will own the full lifecycle of industrial machine safeguarding control systems.
From initial design and panel building in our shop to final commissioning at customer sites across the United States, you will solve real-world automation and safety challenges from concept to startup. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys a 50/50 split between shop-based engineering and field travel.
Responsibilities
- Design & Layout : Create industrial control panel layouts and detailed electrical schematics.
- Programming : Program PLCs, safety relays, safety PLCs, and related automation devices.
- Build & Test : Hands-on wiring, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of control panels in our shop.
- Field Commissioning : Lead onsite field wiring, device setup, system verification, and successful technical startups.
- Customer Support : Provide onsite service work, field troubleshooting, and excellent technical support to clients.
Requirements
- Experience : Minimum of 3 years of hands-on industrial controls and panel building experience.
- Education : Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent hands-on industrial experience.
- Technical Skills : Proven ability to read, interpret, and create electrical schematics.
- Programming : Proficient in PLC programming and industrial troubleshooting.
- Tools & Fieldwork : Skilled with electrical test equipment, hand tools, and a solid understanding of conduit installation.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time (primarily U.S. day trips and multi-day travel) with a valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable wearing standard industrial PPE (steel-toe boots, eye/hearing protection).
- Travel Note: All travel expenses are 100% company-covered.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software.
- Specialized experience with machine safeguarding systems (light curtains, safety scanners, safety PLCs).
- A strong mechanical aptitude and background in field service.
