About This Opportunity
Integrity Technical Services, Inc. is partnering with a prominent firm in the Youngstown, Ohio area to hire an experienced Fire Alarm Designer. In this role, you will create precise fire protection system layouts that protect lives and property. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to leverage your knowledge of safety codes while expanding your design capabilities into advanced 3D modeling systems.

Responsibilities

• System Design: Create accurate layouts and technical drawings for fire alarm and life safety protection systems.
• Code Compliance: Review blueprints to ensure all designs align with NFPA standards and regional building codes.
• Software Modeling: Utilize design programs daily and train on advanced 3D / MEP drafting software packages.
• Project Documentation: Use Microsoft Office tools to prepare project submittals, material lists, and engineering files.
• Team Collaboration: Coordinate with project managers and field technicians to ensure design accuracy during installation.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED required. An Associate Degree or Technical College Certificate is highly preferred.
• Experience: Proven hands-on experience in fire alarm protection layout and system design.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of NFPA standards (National Fire Protection Association) and building codes.
• Computer Skills: Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and strong general PC computer literacy.
• Software Aptitude: Eager and willing to learn advanced 3D / 3-D MEP layout and engineering software.
• Certifications: NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems is considered a significant plus.
