About This Opportunity
Integrity Technical Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (EIT) for a leading engineering firm in Cleveland, Ohio. This dynamic role moves beyond a traditional desk job, offering hands-on involvement in high-level forensic engineering investigations. The Forensics Mechanical Engineer will evaluate motor vehicle accidents, perform origin-and-cause water loss analyses, assess workplace safety incidents, and investigate product liability claims to support clients in loss resolution and litigation.
Responsibilities
- Forensic Field Investigations: Perform detailed mechanical inspections, evaluate motor vehicle crashes, and analyze failure sites on-location.
- Vehicle Data & Simulation: Execute motor vehicle Electronic Control Module ( "black box ") downloads and reconstruct crashes using advanced engineering simulation tools.
- Project Management: Direct forensic engineering projects end-to-end, from initial site inspection through report delivery.
- Technical Reporting: Apply engineering principles to deliver concise, detailed technical reports and documentation for litigation support.
- On-Site Travel: Travel short distances (day or overnight) to conduct field investigations and outdoors analysis.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 2–3+ years of specialized mechanical engineering experience.
- Certification: Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of key automotive systems (powertrain, chassis, thermal systems, and dynamics).
- Skills: Strong self-starter with exceptional written/verbal communication, meticulous attention to detail, and top-tier time management.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel periodically (day/overnight) and work outdoors as needed.
- Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR) certification or accident reconstruction experience.
- Background or certification in fire origin and cause investigation.
- Direct experience in incident/failure investigation.
- Prior expert witness testimony or litigation support experience.
