About This Structural Project Engineer Opportunity

Integrity Technical Services, Inc. is partnering with a premier Columbus-based mechanical design/build firm to find a skilled Structural Project Engineer. In this role, you will lead the structural design of complex industrial equipment used in air pollution control, including furnaces, boilers, incinerators, and pressure processing systems like autoclaves. We are looking for a leader who can balance high-level structural analysis with team management, ensuring that every platform, support structure, and vessel meets the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and guide 2–3 direct reports, including Junior Structural Engineers and Civil/Structural Designers.
  • Project Management: Plan, track, and execute project workflows to guarantee all technical, budget, and scheduling milestones are achieved.
  • Engineering & Design: Produce complex structural engineering calculations and sketches for support structures, access platforms, ductwork, vessels, and industrial buildings.
  • Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Work closely with in-house Mechanical and
  • Electrical engineering teams to deliver seamless, integrated system designs.
  • Technical Documentation: Develop comprehensive equipment layouts, produce
  • General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and review/approve all technical drawings prior to issuance.
  • Subcontractor Management: Write detailed scopes of work, evaluate contractor bids, and manage outside engineering consultants to ensure strict project compliance.
  • Procurement Support: Prepare technical purchase specifications for specialized equipment (e.g., prefab buildings, rotary valves, conveyors).
  • Field Support & Reviews: Respond to RFIs from fabricators and contractors,
  • and lead both internal and external technical design reviews.

Requirements

  • Experience: 8–10 years of progressive structural engineering experience within an industrial, heavy manufacturing, or design/build environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Licensure: Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license required (ability to obtain reciprocity in additional states preferred).
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced, hands-on proficiency with STAAD (structural analysis software) and AutoCAD.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong conceptual design skills, industrial site development knowledge, and a proven track record of complex problem-solving.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
