About This Opportunity
Integrity Technical Services, Inc. is partnering with a premier manufacturing firm in the Canton, Ohio area to hire a skilled Utility Design Engineer who will oversee and manage detailing work for utility pole structures derived from customer-supplied or in-house designs. The Engineer will schedule, review, and check the engineering work of team members to ensure strict conformance with design standards, utility specifications, and manufacturing best practices.
Responsibilities
- Engineering & Detailing Management: Manage and review structural detailing for utility pole manufacturing from concept through production.
- Quality Assurance: Check CAD drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and vendor designs for accuracy and compliance with UMIC, customer, and utility standards.
- Design Verification: Utilize AutoCAD, PLS-Pole, or SolidWorks to model, verify layouts, and ensure total manufacturability of pole structures.
- Technical Calculations: Perform problem analysis, design layouts, and structural engineering calculations for high-complexity projects.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to align on design requirements and production feasibility.
- Client & Vendor Communication: Serve as a technical point of contact for customer clarifications, approval drawings, and technical decision-making.
- Project Tracking: Review purchase orders, blueprints, and customer documents to keep projects on task and meet tight deadline schedules.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Structural preferred) or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in structural/design detailing (utility, pole structure, or heavy manufacturing experience preferred).
- Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in AutoCAD, PLS-Pole, and SolidWorks.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of blueprints, approval drawings, purchase orders, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and top-tier organizational skills.
