About the Opportunity
Integrity Technical Services, Inc. is partnering with a leading manufacturing firm in Mentor, Ohio to recruit a skilled Plastic Extrusion Tool & Die Designer. This is a high-impact role focused on the end-to-end design, development, and optimization of tooling for a wide variety of engineered resins.
We are looking for a technical expert who thrives in a hands-on environment—someone who can navigate complex CAD designs while also stepping onto the shop floor to troubleshoot and modify tooling for single-screw extrusion machines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Development: Create precision designs for plastic extrusion tooling, including dies and calibrators.
  • Material Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of resins such as Rigid/Flexible PVC, ABS, HDPE, LDPE, PP, TPOs, and Polycarbonate to the design process.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with existing tooling to minimize downtime and ensure product quality.
  • Hands-on Modification: Utilize die grinders, milling machines, and lathes to fine-tune new and existing tooling.
  • Vacuum Sizing: Implement and oversee vacuum sizing techniques to ensure dimensional accuracy of extruded profiles.
  • Documentation: Maintain rigorous design logs and communication across departments to ensure project timelines are met.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: 4+ years of dedicated experience in Plastic Extrusion Tooling Design.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software is required.
  • Machining Knowledge: Familiarity with operating toolroom equipment (lathes, mills, grinders) for die modification.
  • Education: High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field is highly preferred.
  • Shift: Primarily Day Shift, with the flexibility for occasional weekend work based on production needs.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for technical documentation and team collaboration.
